We operate an 'open house' policy at JOLLYWOOD. All parents are welcome to come and sit in on a class or rehearsal at any time.

If you are interested in joining JOLLYWOOD please ring Leigh 01206 392467 or drop us an email on our 'apply now' page to say you would like to pop along one Saturday morning to 'try out' free of charge. You can join in or just watch, but more importantly meet us and the other students, see us at work and discover the JOLLYWOOD experience for yourselves!

JOLLYWOOD PROUDLY PRESENTS 'TAMING KATE' Our major production for 2011
Performances on Sunday 10th July 2.30 and 6.30

An exciting new show based on 'The Taming of the Shrew', with influences from '10 Things I Hate About You' and 'Kiss Me Kate'. This promises to challenge everybody's classical and contemporary performance skills, with plenty of musical numbers and exciting stage effects.

Jollywood Youth Theatre JOLLYWOOD is deliberately kept small. This way we know the children extremely well and can monitor their progress spotting any areas that need more work or extra support and tuition. We pride ourselves on our caring and nurturing approach.

The Jollywood Productions All students are taught professional discipline. This means our productions are highly professional. The facilities at Marconi are awesome! We have access to an extremely well equipped Theatre with AMAZING lighting, and our own technical and back stage crew!! Students stage productions (sometimes original) of an exceptionally high standard which are always ambitious and demanding. We perform straight plays as well as musical plays and musicals. Students are introduced to the classical Playwrights and Shakespeare at JOLLYWOOD.

Jollywood Classwork There is no better way to learn the art of performing than to perform!!! Each student learns so much from the productions!....so do we!!!!!

  • They discover their strengths to build on.
  • They discover talents they didn't know they had to develop.
  • They discover any weaknesses that need more work.
Consequently in between productions we work on the skills of performing. Each student is on their own artistic journey and this is when we can give individual attention and support to continually advance their training.

The Jollywood Jester Award

" ..And the award goes to.."
This is our gold statuette and is awarded at the end of every term for sheer hard work, commitment, attitude and improvement. Like the Oscars there are also nominations and it is just as important to receive a nomination. It used to be easy to choose a JOLLYWOOD Jester winner, but it is getting harder and harder!! It is awarded purely on merit so one student could in theory win it time after time!!.

The Jollywood Jester Special Golden Award

This is awarded annually at the end of the summer term. Again the recipient is chosen for the most improvement, this time sustained over the whole year.
