WELCOME TO 'TEAM JOLLYWOOD'
Jollywood Stage School Essex
Leigh Wood (Director)

Leigh began her career in Colchester many years ago! She was in the first ever Colchester Youth Theatre production of "The Crucible" at the Mercury Theatre when she was 16 and stayed with them until she went to Drama School. Leigh Attended Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in London graduating with Honours and an agent!!
Professional work followed in theatre,TV and film. Leigh's theatre career spanned ten years working at some of the major theatres around the country. During which Leigh's TV credits included, "Juliet Bravo", "Grange Hill", "Lovejoy", "The Chief", and " Martin Chuzzlewit". Film appearances included "The Protagonist" (Danny Cannon - Director and producer for CSI TV series) and Lady Macbeth. Leigh has run her own Theatre Company and has toured a one woman Show. A very serious cancer diagnosis when her two children were young resulted in Leigh wanting to spend more time at home, which is when she discovered her talent and passion for teaching. (She's fit and healthy now!!)
Leigh has worked extensively at other Theatre Schools. However she often felt restricted by the rules and regulations of these establishments. She wanted a far more professional approach and atmosphere. She wanted to be able to take her students to new levels and nurture and challenge each individual. She wanted to work with like minded performers, and so JOLLYWOOD was born. As well as teaching master classes in acting, breathing and voice and speech at Jollywood, Leigh is an accomplished writer and loves writing adaptations and original work for JOLLYWOOD as well as encouraging students to write if they have a literary flair! She is also an experienced LAMDA coach.
